The Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Abolarin, has lost his wife, Olori Solape Abolarin.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State acknowledged the death in a condolence message to the monarch on Tuesday.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke described Olori Solape as a virtuous woman and a strong pillar of support to the traditional ruler in the administration of his domain.

“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Omoniyi Abolarin, on the passage of his beloved wife, Olori Solape Christianah Abolarin,” the governor said. “I sympathise with the family and the people of Oke-Ila for the loss of a mother to many and a beacon of humility.”

The governor further expressed his sympathy to the Osun State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, where the deceased served before her death. He urged the community to honour her memory by upholding the values and contributions that defined her life.

“My condolences also go to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the state, which has lost one of its resourceful and dedicated staff,” Adeleke added. “The deceased must be honoured in the progress of the communities that she stood for while alive.”

In addition to Governor Adeleke’s message, journalist and former presidential aspirant Dele Momodu paid tribute to the late Olori Solape in a post on social media.

The Ovation Group chairman wrote: “We lost a rare gem, our unforgettable OLORI SOLAPE CHRISTIANAH ABOLARIN, The compassionate Queen of OKE-ILA ORANGUN in Osun State. May your beautiful soul rest in peace. May God almighty console our phenomenal King OBA ADEDOKUN ABOLARIN AROYINKEYE I and the good people of Oke-Ila Orangun.”
