Nigerians will now pay more to stream movies and series as Netflix has raised its subscription prices once again.

This marks the third increase in less than a year and the first for 2025.

According to the company’s website, the Premium plan now costs ₦8,500 per month, up from ₦7,000. The Standard plan has risen from ₦5,500 to ₦6,500. The Basic plan moved from ₦3,500 to ₦4,000, while the Mobile plan now costs ₦2,500, up from ₦2,200.

Netflix had previously adjusted its prices in April and July 2024.

This latest increase comes at a time when many Nigerians are struggling with high inflation, a falling naira, and rising living expenses.

A subscriber in Lagos, Efe George, said, “It’s getting harder to keep up with all these price increases. Even entertainment is no longer affordable.”

Other service providers have also raised prices recently. In March 2025, MultiChoice, the parent company of DStv and GOtv, announced new rates.

The DStv Compact bouquet was increased from ₦15,700 to ₦19,000. The Compact Plus plan went up from ₦25,000 to ₦30,000, and the Premium package rose from ₦37,000 to ₦44,500.

GOtv also adjusted its prices. The Jinja package increased from ₦3,600 to ₦3,900, Jolli moved from ₦4,850 to ₦5,800, Max rose from ₦7,200 to ₦8,500, Supa increased to ₦11,400 from ₦9,600, and Supa Plus is now ₦16,800, up from ₦15,700.

Netflix has not released any official statement about the latest price change in Nigeria.
