American singer and internet personality Oliver Tree has reportedly died following a helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
A post attributed to The Hollywood Reporter alleged that the singer died in a helicopter crash involving six other people. The claim was later shared across several media platforms, including CNN Brazil.
According to the reports, the crash allegedly occurred in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, a district in the south-west of Rio de Janeiro. The singer was said to be 32 years old.
Known for songs such as ‘Life Goes On’ and ‘Miss You’, Tree built a large following through his music and distinctive style.
Oliver Tree, whose full name is ‘Oliver Tree Nickell’, was born on June 29, 1993, in Santa Cruz, California.
He rose to fame in 2016 with his alter ego, “Turbo,” featuring his trademark bowl haircut, oversized 1980s-inspired clothing, and eccentric personality.
That same year, he released “When I’m Down,” a breakthrough track that helped launch his career and eventually led to a recording deal with Atlantic Records.
