Enugu North by-election: APC confident of victory — Ben Nwoye

NSUKKA — The Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ben Nwoye, says the party is fully prepared to win the Enugu North Senatorial District by-election scheduled for Saturday, June 20, 2026.

Nwoye, a former APC Chairman in Enugu State, expressed optimism on Friday while speaking with journalists in Nsukka, saying the party’s candidate, Ikeje Asogwa, stands out among contenders in the race.

He described Asogwa as a credible and experienced candidate with the capacity to represent the district effectively at the National Assembly.

According to him, the APC has intensified mobilisation efforts across the senatorial district ahead of the election, with party leaders already on ground to ensure strong voter turnout.

“We are fully prepared for this election,” he said, adding that the party has been engaging stakeholders and supporters across the district.

Nwoye also said the party remains confident in the acceptability of its candidate, noting that Asogwa has demonstrated leadership qualities and enjoys strong support within the party structure.

He further argued that the zoning arrangement in Enugu State favours the candidate’s local government area, Igbo-Eze South.

The APC chieftain also urged voters to turn out en masse and support the party in the by-election, stressing that it offers what he described as effective representation for the district.
